A Great Definition

After being a technical writer for a couple of years I thought it was time I bought a decent dictionary, so I bought myself a copy of The Canadian Oxford English Dictionary. It's a damn fine dictionary, let me tell you, and probably the best one I'll ever own for Canadian English. Naturally, being a youngish male, the first thing I did was look up swear words and I stumbled across this:

fuck that (or this) noise N Amer.
expressing total dismissiveness of a suggestion, comment etc.

Priceless, and well worth the money spent. Seriously though, if you want a decent Canadian dictionary, this is the one to get. I highly recommend it if you do any kind of writing.

I suppose I could've bought a cheaper dictionary that wasn't as comprehensive or as thoroughly researched...
