Lifetime!

Finally, after 9 months, I’m a lifetime Weight Watchers member!

I weighed in this Wednesday and all was well, so that makes the diet officially over. And I must say, it was a very positive experience.

To give you some background, in case your just tuning in, I’ve been on the Weight Watchers program since June 16, 2004. On January 12, 2005 I finally reached my goal weight of 180 pounds (down from 230). For the 6 weeks following (technically 7, but only 6 counted as part of the program) I was on a maintenance program. And this last Wednesday’s successful weigh-in marks the end of the maintenance program, and my diet, and the beginning of my life-time membership, which means I get to go to meetings for free anywhere in the world (you can probably find more information about the program on the website).

The other thing I should mention is that it wasn’t easy. I had to make a lot of significant changes in my life. The diet took 9 months, but it was a matter of 5 years prior to finally get to where I am now. Those last 5 years, for a variety of personal reasons, were tough, and I struggled with my weight through-out. And now it’s finally over and I’ve never felt better in my life.

I think I may have to celebrate…
